I-85 at Sugarloaf Parkway Road Interchange Location: Gwinnett County, Georgia Owner/Customer: Georgia Department of Transportation Project Description: Construction of a complete, new interchange at I-85 between S.R. 120 and Old Peachtree Road; construction of a four-lane highway from Satellite Boulevard to S.R. 120; construction of a new bridge to carry I-85 traffic in its permanent alignment, both north and south bound, and a new underpass under I-85 to create Sugarloaf Parkway; detouring of north and south bound I-85 traffic onto detour roads to accommodate the demolition of the existing I-85 north and south bound lanes; reconstruction of the previous detour lanes of I-85 into the new north and south bound collector-distributor roads and ramps onto Sugarloaf Parkway; numerous reinforced earth walls and box culverts. |
